Over the next few weeks, there will be some changes to the website that I wanted to share. This is something that’s been in the works for awhile, but is getting close to being done. Basically it’s an announcement of several apps I’m working on. I should add that “working on” is mostly aspirational. These are apps I want to see developed, and as the saying goes, “Necessity is the mother of invention.” However, in some cases, another saying also applies; “If you want something done, right, you have to do it yourself.”
I’m a hobbyist programmer, so making these is partly intellectual curiosity. Sure, I could use programs like WordPress, phpBB, Thunderbird, etc, but all of these programs come from different codebases, and have different aesthetics and philosophies. All of these apps will be built around the same PHP framework, and as much as possible they’ll share the same aesthetics. Anyway, I’m getting a bit ahead of myself. In the future I’ll talk more about the apps, the goals, the inspirations, and so on. But for now, it’s enough to give you a head’s up about the changes.
